But before they can set off, an anonymous call to headquarters throws their plans into disarray: a new case awaits the three detectives. Their investigations lead them to a mysterious secret society called Sphinx. The organization is led by the enigmatic Professor Phoenix (Andreas Pietschmann) and his assistant Olin (Jannik Schümann). The group conducts illegal excavations and sells stolen artifacts for profit. Soon, their focus turns to the volcanic island of Makatao, feared as the Island of the Dead. There is a burial site there shrouded in dark legends – supposedly, no one who sets foot on the island ever returns. Despite the danger, Sphinx embarks on an expedition there.
