Registration

While the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training provides highly subsidized access to school children, the GLS Inc. membership fee of $150 for the first child, $100 for the second child and $70 for any additional children covers part of the cost for teachers and teaching assistants, supplementary teaching and learning materials, the school library, the preparatory courses for the German Language Diplomas (DSD I & II), as well as the cultural programs and the teachers' professional development.

Out-of-province costs for students not residing in Ontario currently stand at 190$ for one child, 160$ for the second and 120$ for any number of subsequent children.

In terms of the registration process for the 2011/2012 school year, please download our registration form, fill it in in advance and bring both the form and your payment in on the 10th of September. Payment can be made either by cash or cheque.

You can also mail the completed registration form with a cheque to our postal address. Please do not send registration forms without payment.

Cheques should be made out to German Language School Ottawa Inc.

Please note that high school registration is different from elementary registration. To register your son or daughter for grades 9 to 12, they must be a grade 9 to 12 student in their day school and registration will take place at St. Pius X High School itself (1481 Fisher Ave.). The registration dates for this year are September 7th, 2011 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. or September 10th and 17th from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

If your son or daughter has completed GLS grade 8 but is not yet a high school student in their day school, please contact Frau Birgit Wirz-Endrys to enrol them in the DSD I diploma class (613-828-3963). This course takes place on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 9:15 p.m. at the Martin-Luther Church, located at 499 Preston St. in Ottawa.
